Bio

Kate is best known for her work in the field of wearable computing & mobile technology. Her project, Ovü has been featured on international television on multiple occasions, presented at conferences and displayed in galleries, such as Sesc Paulista Gallery, São Paulo, Brazil. It has also received the attention of many blogs, such as Popgadget, Eyebeam & Wired and has been documented in various newspaper articles throughout Brazil.

Over the years, Kate has collaborated with others, particularly in mobile design and development, attempting to push the boundaries of wireless communications with projects such as Offlines, e-parole, LUVunderground and mobileHOME.

Kate began her professional career in the field of print design, later taking on various roles, such as web designer, writer, illustrator and web master for companies such as Ultimate Symbol, Firstborn Multimedia and Atlantic Records, as well as her own clients. She has won several awards in design and has exhibited work in both group and solo exhibitions, such as the Richard & Dolly Maass Gallery.

A few years after graduating from Purchase College, SUNY with a BFA in graphic design and a BA in New Media, Kate continued her education at New York University, receiving a Masters Degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP.)

Currently, Kate maintains heavy involvement in the field of Interaction Design, particularly the arena of mobile and emerging technology. She has spoken about wearable technology at conferences, such as Microsoft Design Expo, SXSW Interactive Festival and Mobilefest.

Kate is currently working as an Interaction Designer in the field of Digital Advertising and also teaches a class in Multimedia at Manhattanville College.
