This guy named Brent, from the UK, was fined because he blogged about a police officer’s newborn baby and, according to the magistrates, “any reasonable person would find the comments menacing.”
Can that actually happen?! Well, yeah.
Moral of the Story: Be careful what you blog about. Double-check to make sure it isn’t menacing or susceptible (dictionary.com totally spelled that one for me) to being misconstrued. And for goodness sakes, do NOT blog about police officers’ babies- especially the newborns!
