So this is kinda working out with MapMyRuns (operative word being “kinda”) however, I still feel like its not entirely accurate for some reason. Also, I still dont know why it sometimes writes New York, NY and others, Brooklyn, NY.
The good news is that I think I figured out a way to change the battery on my Nike+. Wheeeee. The water-logged one is def dead but I have an older one that the battery just died so going to try and revitalize that and use it again.
This whole manual tracking thing is really messing up my process anyway. I just want to sync and automate. Done.

“Someday you’ll be glad you know how to sew (knit, crochet, quilt, embroider, etc.)” she said, to the disgruntled child (aka moi) who would’ve much rather been out in the backyard, climbing trees.
Well… looks like those kinds of skills actually do come in handy, like if you happen to be into soft circuitry and stuff.
More fun w/embroidery

Its official. What a sad day.

Twitter insights can now can be found in ur local chinese take-out.
Gee, you know, I was just thinking how I really need another channel to download content. Put it in the cookie!

Validation for Blog Negligence (aka other fun stuff I did instead):

lots of running & documention on my other blog,
random outdoor bkyln summer events,

multiple scrabble matches, both online…

…and offline,

experiments in the kitchen - sometimes they worked out,
top secret spy mission & various other projects,
yoga,

bike rides around bklyn w/select members of the Headband Biker Gang (not to be confused w/the bklyn machete gang),
more running.

Above: Last night's run to LES & back. (~6.6mi)
Since my Nike+ is bricked from torrential downpour that caught me on a run last week, I have been estimating my runs based on past data until I get a replacement/fix the old one.
In the interim, I’m using this online mapping app, called MapMyRun. Super cool. And pretty on target, in terms of distance tracking. (Note: Williamsburg Bridge = 1.2mi ONE WAY.)

1. A jellyfish can sting you.
2. The stings are itchy.
3. They leave rash/welts.
4. And can give you nausea.
5. If the sting is from a box jellyfish, it can actually kill you.
FYI: You’re supposed to seek medical attn if your last tenanus shot was >10yrs ago. Who knew?

b/c why not? The site has a parts list and really good demo pics. (Gee, I wish I had documented my thesis project as well.)
re: Twitter. “I’m getting better about using it and finding a way to integrate it into my life, but at the end of the day, i just don’t need 12 updates per day from people describing the details of their daily life experiences, and i can’t imagine that other people want that from me.” Manlio (via ITP Alumni Blender)
it’s just not evenly distributed. - William Gibson
I found myself quoting Gibson today in response a debate on the relevance of micro-blogging.
